The Serengeti is a vast savanna famous for the Great Migration of over a million wildebeest, zebras, and antelope. It is the oldest national park in Tanzania (est. 1951)and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The park is known for the “Big Five” – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, and Cape Buffalo. Many other predators and many species of antelope also call Serengeti home. Game drives can provide viewing of cheetahs, hyenas, wild dogs, giraffes, and many species of birds.
Dry Season (June to October): Wildlife gather around waterholes, and the bush thins out making it easier to spot animals. Best time to view river crossings during the migration.
Wet Season (November to May): The plains are green and fertile. A great time to view the calving season and see the babies.

This ecosystem supports: 2,000,000 wildebeest, 9000,000 Thompson gazelles, 300,000 zebras, 70,000 buffaloes, 4000 giraffes, 3000, waterbuck, 2700 elephants, 500 hippos, 4000 lions, 1000 leopards, 3500 hyenas, 300 cheetahs, 1000 leopards, and many more species of wildlife. You will see wildlife!!!
2-3 days of game drives can provide excellent results for viewing wildlife.
